CHICAGO — Several Illinois-based advocacy groups joined together today to praise the Illinois Department of Insurance for taking a crucial first step in addressing discrimination against transgender Illinoisans in insurance coverage.

WASHINGTON—The White House today announced the President’s intention to issue an executive order that would ban workplace discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees of federal contractors.

PEORIA -- A 29-year-old Peoria resident is suing the City, the Mayor and several officials for their role in transforming his Twitter parody of the Mayor into a police matter, leading to a raid on a home, the seizing of personal property and his arrest and detention.
