HB 1948 - Surveillance Camera Data Collection

ACLU Initiative

HB 1948 would require police agencies that own or have access to video surveillance cameras to disclose to the Attorney General (1) the number of cameras they own or have access to, and (2) their privacy regulations, if they have any. It would also require the Attorney Generally to post this information on its website.

HB 1371 - School Choice Act

House Sponsor: Representative Ford

HB 1371 would allow public schools to pay taxpayer funds to private religious schools, by means of tuition vouchers to certain parents. This bill establishes a pilot School Choice Program which would create a voucher program for 1000 students living in one of the 20 zip codes that generate the greatest amount of State lottery sales in 2010. Eligible students would receive a scholarship to leave a public school and enroll in an non-public school.
