WBEZ reported on the lawsuit that the ACLU of Illinois joined to challenge the health care system that fails to adequately serve Illinois prisoners. The case is filed on behalf of six inmates against the Illinois Department of Corrections. The Uptown People's Law Center originally filed the case, and attorney Alan Mills spoke with WBEZ about working with the ACLU of Illinois:

"We have lots of expertise in the way the prisons work," he said, "but don’t have the horses to do this alone, so I think everybody brings to the table here some really good skills which will allow us to bring this case through to a verdict in the plaintiff’s favor.”
