Our Children’s Initiative aims to redress the harmful and unconstitutional effects of broken government systems on vulnerable Illinois youth. The efforts of our project seek lasting reforms to these programs that will ultimately allow vulnerable youth to participate in society as productive, healthy and happy citizens. We believe that government has a constitutional obligation to provide adequate care for those children in its custody, including appropriate levels of medical and psychiatric care, food, safety, and education. Our mission is to vastly improve the life experiences of those in government custody as part of our uncompromising commitment to living up to the aspirations of the Constitution and achieving a truly equal and just society.
