Please join us on Wednesday, June 18th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the ACLU of Illinois’ offices for a special Pride Month panel discussion and celebration. We continue to see an onslaught of attacks nationwide on the LGBTQ+ community – especially trans people – which seek to strip away fundamental freedoms. Together, we will discuss the historical and ongoing work of the ACLU, take action, build solidarity, and uplift and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

The event will feature ACLU-IL Senior Policy Counsel Aisha N. Davis, Deputy Legal Director Michelle García, Board President Jill Metz, Staff Attorney Mason Strand, and Director of Communications and Public Policy Ed Yohnka.

Light food and drinks will be provided. We hope you can join us! If you have any questions, please reach out to us at events@aclu-il.org.

Please note that registration is required to attend this event.

This nationwide day of action comes in response to escalating threats to our rights and democratic institutions. We are seeing efforts to silence dissent, punish political opponents, undermine the role of the courts, and target immigrants and communities of color.

This year, the Trump Administration is planning a military parade in Washington D.C. on Flag Day. Our plan is to come together to reaffirm what our flag actually represents: not the power of any one individual, but the shared values of equality, justice, and freedom.

No Kings is a nationwide collective demand for accountability, dignity, and the rule of law.
