The Illinois Supreme Court ruled in Hope Clinic v. Adams to restore the Parental Notification of Abortion Act, which will require the parent of a minor seeking an abortion, to be notified 48-hours prior to the procedure. The Chicago Tribune caught up with ACLU of Illinois Reproductive Rights Project Director Lorie Chaiten:

The American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois decried today’s decision, saying in a statement that it “jeopardizes the health and safety of young women.”
“In the face of today’s decision, teens are forced to make a difficult choice – notify an abusive parent, navigate a complex, imposing judicial system, or carry a pregnancy to term against their will,” said Lorie Chaiten, the director of reproductive rights project at the ACLU.
