Federal Judge Orders 5 Guantanamo Detainees Released

From the Washington Post:

For the first time, a federal judge today ordered the release of alleged enemy combatants from the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, ruling that the government had provided insufficient evidence to continue their detentions.

These men, Algerians who were detained in Bosnia after September 11th, have been imprisioned for seven years.

Let me repeat that - these men have been held, without trial, without being charged with a crime, for

seven years . In the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

It's heartbreaking.
