Please join the ACLU of Illinois, Indivisible Vermilion County, and the NAACP Danville Chapter on Sunday, September 27 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the Laura Lee Fellowship House for Power to the People: Danville – a free, family-friendly event focused on voter readiness, voting rights, and civil liberties.

With the 2026 midterm elections quickly approaching, this event will offer practical information and resources to help you feel informed and prepared to participate. Hirsh Joshi, Staff Attorney at the ACLU of Illinois, will discuss voting rights protections, barriers communities may face when accessing the ballot, and how to document concerns or seek support if issues arise.

Attendees will also be able to check their voter registration status, find their polling location, and learn about key voting deadlines, while connecting with fellow supporters, neighbors, and friends.

And bring your sweet tooth! We'll have a build-your-own sundae bar for attendees to enjoy.

This event is free, open to the public, and strictly nonpartisan. We hope you'll join us in Danville for an afternoon of community, civic engagement, and civil rights education.
