November 4, 2006 - Get on the Bus for Fair Wisconsin
Are you free on Saturday? It's crunch time for our friends in Wisconsin. This weekend's "Get Out the Vote" effort will determine whether or not they can make history as the first state to successfully defeat a constitutional amendment banning civil unions and gay marriage. Thanks to your efforts, Illinois will not be voting on LGBT families next week. Let's help fairness prevail in Wisconsin as well.
Along with Equality Illinois and People for the American Way, the ACLU of Illinois is sponsoring a volunteer bus, headed to Milwaukee this Saturday (Nov. 4th). Please join us at 9:30AM at the Equality Illinois office (3707 N Halsted) for a free ride to and from Wisconsin. The bus will depart at 10AM. The bus will return in the evening around 8PM. Food will be provided - we just need you!
Fair Wisconsin, the primary opponents of this discriminatory referendum, have specially invited Fair Illinoisans to help out for the day. For those who prefer to drive themselves - we will be meeting in Milwaukee at the Planned Parenthood offices ( 302 N Jackson St) at noon.
To sign up, please email Nora at nranney@aclu.org or call 646-506-5560. Feel free to invite a friend!
Are you willing to make history.. again? Join us in Wisconsin.
