Partner of Killed Trooper Fighting for Benefits

When Missouri State Trooper, Dennis Engelhard, was killed in the line of duty, he left his long-time partner, Kelly Glossip, without his death benefits. The couple was not married, as Missouri law does not allow gay marriages or civil unions. Glossip was forced to go to court to fight, with the help of the ACLU, for his partner’s death benefits.
