The New York Times published an article via the Chicago News Cooperative about the police deployment case and the response from Chicago police superintendent Garry McCarthy and 49th Ward Aldermen Joe Moore at the hearing.

Late last month, days after The Chicago News Cooperative reported on a beat officer assignment list obtained in early October from a police source, the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois and West Side activists sued the city, contending that the distribution of police resources shortchanges minority neighborhoods. The A.C.L.U. has long sought the deployment data.
