April 2007 Archives Bad News for Women's Health in Illinois April 27, 2007 Barely a week after the Supreme Court of the United States ignored the need to protect the health and safety of women in our nation, the Illinois House of Representatives yesterday rejected a reasonable "fix" to the 1995 Parental Notifice of Abortion Act, potentially placing the health and lives of vulnerable teenagers facing an unintended pregnancy at risk. House Bill 317 fell five votes short of passage, with 55 members voting yes, and 62 members voting no.
