Youth at Risk
The Youth at Risk Project is the Roger Baldwin Foundation’s new initiative to advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth who encounter harassment, violence and discrimination in schools, in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems, and living on the streets. The goals of the Youth at Risk Project are:
- To better inform LGBTQ youth of their existing legal rights;
- To empower them to ask for safe and equal treatment and
call the ACLU or other youth advocacy groups for assistance
in redressing rights violations;
- And to improve the ineffective patchwork of laws and policies
that currently fail to adequately protect these young people.
