Constance McMillen is not the only student who has contacted the American Civil Liberties Union about LGBT discrimination at Itawamba Agricultural High School this year, according to a recent article from “The Stranger.”
The article said Juin Baize, a transgender student, lasted only four hours at the high school before being suspended by school officials for an unlisted reason, but most likely from wearing feminine clothing. Students talked about Baize, but did not have a chance to get to know him because he was given a second suspension when he returned to the school.
The ACLU asked the school for the reason of Baize’s suspension but did not receive a response.
Baize relocated to Pensacola, Florida to stay with other family members.
Due to the relocation, the ACLU will not be pursing the case.
