Maureen Loughnane

Development Officer Maureen Loughnane fell in love with the ACLU in the 7th grade, when she learned that the ACLU was the only national organization that opposed the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. Since that time she dreamed of joining the fight for civil liberties, a dream which finally came true in 2009 when she became a board member, and then in 2010 when she joined the staff. Maureen previously worked at the University of Chicago where she was the Associate Director of the Human Rights Program, and then Senior Associate Director, Interdisciplinary Programs, for Alumni Relations and Development. She has an A.B. in English Literature, and an A.M. in Japanese Literature, both from the University of Chicago.
