Legal Director Mr. Grossman has served as legal director since 1980. He supervises the work of ten attorneys and also provides direct representation in complex impact litigation in both state and federal courts. These cases cover a broad range of civil liberties and civil rights matters, including free speech and association, voting rights, privacy, institutionalized persons, reproductive freedom, and class-based discrimination. Mr. Grossman is an experienced United States Supreme Court litigator.
From 1973 to 1980, Mr. Grossman served, first as an attorney, and for the last two years of his tenure as the program-wide litigation coordinator, for the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation – a Legal Services Corporation funded program with 13 offices in southern Illinois.
He graduated, Member of the Coif, from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1973.
