Ravi Baichwal of ABC Channel 7 News had a segment about the state of American security against terrorist attacks in light of the upcoming 10-year anniversary of September 11th. The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States recently issued a report card showing mediocre to low "scores" rating the country's preparedness for another attack.

For civil libertarians, the 9/11 Commission's report card speaks to the fallacy of the tradeoff that many Americans figured had to be made in the days after 9/11: giving up some freedoms for the sake of security.

"We're going to see even more proposals for more security measures, but we ought to have the confidence as a country to be able to ask hard questions about whether or not these proposals are actually effective," Ed Yohnka, ACLU, said.
